This is increase, thus, use:

Markup=New-Original
Markup%= Markup/Original*100

So,

Markup=36-6
M=30

then plug it in to the second equation,

Markup%=30/6*100
M%=5*100
M%=500

Thus, the percent of change, is 500%.
