Combine the fractions:

1/4 + 5/4: 3/2

=(3/2)^2+3/4

Apply exponent rule:

=3^2/2^2 + 3/4

=3^2/2^2 = 9/4

=9/4 + 3/4

Apply rule:

=9+3/4

Add the numbers:

9+3=12

=12/4

Divide the numbers:

12/4 = 3

Your answer is 3
