I believe the answer is: She wanted to be knowledgeable like Adam, who was made in God's image.

In Lanier's theory,  Eve wanted to taste the fruit in tree of knowledge because he wanted to be equal with the capabilities that adam had and want to obtain the capabilities that theld by the creator. Because of this, she persuaded Adam to take the fruit and share it together with her.
